We went to the local Marion ArtsFestival this past weekend and Hubby and I really got a kick out of this piece by Sarah Kargol. It's one of five in her Hero series in which Superman's girlfriend proclaims to have a headache to which he responds "Yes, Dear". It's good to know even Heros lives are imperfect:)
Although hubby is a fanatical Superman fan, this piece was a bit out of our budget, so we had to settle for lemonade shakeups and a funnel cake. The sugar buzz was great while it lasted!
Both my niece and nephew turned three this month. Here they are hamming it up for my camera at the end of a park bench. Wow! I sure wish I had their energy!
We took a drive recently to Dubuque, Iowa...a quaint old river town full of historic buildings. The shop signs were nostolgic looking and I took a few pics.
Toggery? How long has it been since you've suited up at one of these??
Then there's Mystic Tattoo. Personally, I am tattoo free, which makes them all the more mystic to me.
Finally, the antique shop was three levels that consisted of a spooky basement full of old broken furniture, an upstairs full of dated wall hangings, and a main floor stacked over our heads with tiny squeeze-through aisles full of trinkets, doo dads, and hoo ha (a little bit of everything).
For my treasure of the day, I found the above ceramic statue of a french girl and added a crown I found on eBay.

Eloise is a precocious girl of six and lives at the Plaza in new York City with her dog, Weenie, her turtle, Skipperdee, and her Nanny. My Mom's older sister got her this book as a child and then she read it to me as a child. As you might imagine, Eloise's life is rawther adventurous!
